Project Overview

The AKASH self-service app for AKASH Digital TV was redesigned to make it easier and more enjoyable for users. The app includes important features like recharging accounts, changing billing plans, switching packages, chatting with customer support, and sending service requests—all in one place. The old app had many complaints about its user experience, so I was asked to improve how it looked and worked, making it much simpler and more satisfying to use.

Challenge

Redesigning the AKASH self-service app required preserving all existing features while enhancing the overall user experience. The challenge was to keep the brand’s look and feel consistent with AKASH’s identity while refreshing the design. Another important goal was to create a new interface that felt intuitive, so users could experience the improvements without needing to relearn the app. Balancing these aspects demanded a careful approach to ensure familiarity and ease for users.

Results

The redesigned app’s UIUX received highly positive feedback from stakeholders, who appreciated the improved design and user experience. Though the app is still in the development phase and not yet live, in-house testing showed promising results. Testers, including those unfamiliar with the previous app, found the interface intuitive and enjoyable, with no usability blockers. This positive response indicates that the app redesign successfully achieved its goals of enhancing user-friendliness and delivering a fresh, engaging experience.
